A pretty pink smoothie in a heart shaped bowl - what more could you want?
Now that it's summer, I fancy something cooler than a bowl of porridge in the mornings, so this smoothie berry bowl is right up my street. As it has protein powder in it, it's great after a morning workout or I often enjoy it as my healthy weekday dessert. If you're not a protein powder fan you can definitely get away with adding a handful of frozen bananas instead, as this is a great way to thicken it up. However, I have recently been using the My Protein 'Natural Vanilla' Impact Whey Protein Powder and I have been converted.

I never used to be a fan of protein powders and was always sceptical of using them. Now that I'm regularly going to the gym I thought it would fun to test it out. So, I began doing some research to see which ones were available. I tested out vegan brands and all the pea flavoured jazz but it just wasn't for me. I was on the hunt for a powder which had ingredients that were as natural as possible but I wasn't going to sacrifice the taste. At the end of the day, if i'm going to be having this supplement everyday it's got to be nice right? I then resulted to looking at My Protein.
I was totally overwhelmed by the range of flavours they had on offer but this went against my desire for a naturally flavoured powder. Then I stumbled across the natural flavours and had a look at the ingredients. The ingredients for the natural vanilla flavour consists of...
Whey Protein Concentrate (Milk) (96%), Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Natural Flavouring, Sweetener (Sucralose)
...which I didn't think sounded too bad. So there we go, I purchased a pouch and here I am now almost on my third pouch!

For the last couple of months I have been adding this powder to so many dishes including pancakes, waffles, desserts and smoothies. It has been a total game changer! I'm not some sort of body builder (haha) but I honestly love the taste and I think it is a great way for me to get more protein into my diet. Highly recommend!
Anyway enough rambling, I hope you enjoy the recipe and let me know in the comments if you try it out.

Toppings (experiment with your favourites!):
- 1 banana
